My first letterpress project, ever! I’m especially fond of the Pantone spot coloring applied to the edges. I think it makes for a nice touch on these super clean and minimal cards.

Forms for joining Razorgator’s Celebrity “Most Wanted” program. This project made me fall in love with form design all over again! I’d forgotten how simple, beautiful and user-friendly forms can be, when some thought and care are put into their creation. Download the complete set of forms, here.

These were created to hand out at a tradeshow. I like that they don’t look like traditional coupons printed on cheap paper. These were printed double-sided on cardstock, and are the size of a business card, so they fit perfectly in a passerby’s wallet.

A super fun project. The cards are perforated so you can tear off a “mini ticket” with your basic info, and pass that along to someone else. Two cards in one!

Wanting to stray from the traditional “booklet” format, I originally formatted the program to be printed on a long, narrow sheet of linen cardstock. However, I later discovered that many of the service attendees would be older, and therefore needed to increase the overall type sizes, and consequently, the document size. I ended up with a square format program, printed with 2-spot colors on linen cardstock.

This design was inspired by the then newly-introduced “paperless” option for accessing live events. Instead of carrying a paper ticket, a consumer could have their ticketing information transferred to a credit card or driver’s license, which would then become their “access card,” to the event.

I thought it might be fun to carry the music theme and use music bars as my grid for the address info.

The rounded corners on the business card are meant to mimic the rounded lips of the beaker in the logo.

I’ve never been to a doctor’s office that had cohesively designed and branded forms (I usually get the awful-looking MS Word xeroxes), so when the client asked me to design these I was quite excited. Incidentally, this was the first time I had to set type in another language (Chinese) that I don’t speak. It added another level of complexity to the project.

I discovered during the course of this project that laying down a screen of one spot color is a good way of keeping 2-spot color print pricing while making it look like you have a third.

One of my first stationery design jobs that ended up being quite challenging. There was a plethora of legal and licensee verbage that needed to fit everywhere, remain legible, and not overcrowd the media!
